Metagenics Was Born from a Family Decision to Do Better

Before founding Metagenics, the Katke family worked for another supplement brand until they uncovered a troubling truth: the products they believed in weren’t meeting clinical standards. Quality was compromised. Doses weren’t evidence-based. Patient outcomes were declining.

They called a family meeting. Staying no longer felt right - ethically or professionally. They only had one choice, to start their own company. That moment became the beginning of Metagenics: a company built on science, integrity, and a commitment to doing what’s right for the patient.

The name reflects that promise: Meta means “new,” genics means “beginnings.”

From day one, Metagenics set out to raise the bar. We have pioneered evidence-based supplements and helped shape the future of functional medicine, educating practitioners and setting new standards in quality, building on the foundational insights shared by thought leaders Lyra Heller and Jeff Bland.
